Google has rolled out changes that will make it more difficult for some people to get around censorship laws. Changes to Google's network infrastructure are ending the site's use for domain-fronting, which previously allowed developers to circumvent state censorship tools by making it appear as though their site's users were actually accessing Google's encrypted website. Without domain-fronting, it could become more difficult for many people to access websites or online services that are blocked by their country's government.
