News Canada votes against UN motion for inspection of Israel’s nuclear program

Canada was on the losing side of the vote Monday as the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly approved a resolution Monday calling on Israel to quickly open its nuclear program for inspection and backing a high-level conference to ban nuclear weapons from the Middle East which was just cancelled.

News Ankara confirms request for more Russian gas amid Iran sanctions

Energy Minister Taner Yıldız confirmed on Tuesday that Ankara is in talks with Moscow to increase its gas supply to Turkey as US-led sanctions on Iran over its suspected nuclear program have forced Turkey to cut imports of Iranian gas.

  • Gazprom appears set to expand its underground gas storage facilities and gas transmission capacity in Belarus
