On October 17, 2012, Dr Marat Terterov, Director of EGF, addressed the 243rd Session of the, Historical Society, Trinity College, Dublin, in a debate where he opposed the motion that "This House Believes NATO Should Intervene in Syria,". Dr Terterov argued that the record of Western military intervention in the Muslim world has bequeathed a rather melancholic chain of events for the countries of the region and that we “need to have a very clear and unbiased understanding of key conflict dynamics before deciding to put boots on the ground”. On May 28,2012 EGF was invited to open a "Eurasian Fiscal Experts" Seminar hosted by the International Tax and Investment Centre, Washington DC, in Brussels. The Seminar brought together several dozen experts and high level state officials from a range of countries across Eurasia to examine the inter-dynamics between taxation policy and investment climates in Russia, Ukraine, the Caucasus and wider-Caspian regions.
