News N. Korea leader in Russia to meet Medvedev

North Korean leader Kim Jong Il arrived in Russia's Far East on Saturday and will meet with President Dmitry Medvedev during a visit expected to last a week, the Kremlin said. It is Kim's first trip to the country in nine years and a further sign of Pyongyang's increasing efforts to reach out for economic assistance and diplomatic support.

News Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan establish joint Center for Disaster Response and Risk Reduction

On World Humanitarian Day the Emergency Ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will sign the Agreement on the establishment of a Central Asian Center for Disaster Response and Risk Reduction.
The official signing ceremony will be attended by high-level representatives of UN Agencies, other international organizations, European and Asian embassies as well as the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department.
