    Research and implementation works are being performed on an unprecedented scale. The works concern both new technologies increasing effectiveness of usage of fossil fuels and implementation of alternative sources of energy. The most promising direction of actions is the planned exploitation of gas sources from shale deposits which are in the limelight in connection with the planned changes of balance of forces on the world energy market. That is why, both the presentation of detailed information concerning plans of searching for so-called shale gas by American companies and the confirmation of its industrial-scale output profitability in Poland is becoming the issue of a wider scale than only the Polish market. The issue seems to concern at least the whole Europe.
