Ukraine separatists stay put despite diplomatic deal

Armed pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine said on Friday they were not bound by an international deal ordering them to disarm and were looking for more assurances about their security before leaving the public buildings they are holding.

Putin says annexation of Crimea partly a response to NATO enlargement

President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said Russia had been forced to respond to NATO enlargement and that its annexation of Crimea, home to its Black Sea Fleet, was partly influenced by the Western military alliance's expansion into eastern Europe.

Russia mulls lawsuit against United States in WTO over sanctions
