Lukashenko abruptly sworn in, Belarus opposition calls for more protests

Russia's Gazprom Neft sees oil demand returning to pre-crisis levels in second-half 2021

The chief executive of Russian oil producer Gazprom Neft SIBN.MM said he expects global oil consumption to return to pre-crisis level in the second half of 2021, slightly later than the energy ministry's forecast for the second quarter.

Russia says to resume patrolling of Syrian highway with Turkey when situation calms

Russia and Turkey have suspended joint patrols of the M4 highway in Syria for security reasons and will resume them once the situation there calms down, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in comments published on Monday.

The Human Rights Council agreed to a resolution submitted by the European Union to launch closer U.N. monitoring of alleged rights violations in Belarus, despite multiple attempts by Russia to water it down.

Belarus opposition offers talks as U.N. hears fears of 'another iron curtain'

Belarus opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya demanded on Friday an international mission to document what she called “atrocities” during crackdowns on anti-government protests, but said she was ready for talks to end weeks of violence.

Ukraine warns Russia on Belarus interference as UK flags sanctions

Ukraine’s foreign minister warned Russia on Friday against taking steps that undermine may undermine Belarus’ sovereignty and destabilise the region, while Britain called for sanctions on those in Belarus responsible for the “fraudulent elections”.

Baltic states impose sanctions on Lukashenko and other Belarus officials
