Kazakhstan Expands Gas Transit Pipeline Capacities and Own Exports to China

The longest section of the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China transit pipeline passes through Kazakhstan’s territory: it measures 1,115 kilometers in length, of the total 1,830-kilometer Turkmenistan-China distance. Kazakhstan is adding a dedicated export pipeline for its own gas exports to China. In combination, these developments (alongside planned oil exports) confer to Kazakhstan a major role in China’s energy security calculations.

Kazakhstan, Belarus discuss cooperation

Kazakhstan and Belarus have discussed bilateral cooperation and reached an agreement on joint activities on the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.

Turkish businessmen ready to invest in Turkmen economy

Representatives of major Turkish business are ready to enhance cooperation with Turkmenistan, including in the sphere of investments, Turkish President Abdullah Gul said at a meeting in Istanbul with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov, who arrived in the country on a working visit, national TV channel of Turkmenistan reported on Friday.

Turkmenistan masters Galkynysh in order to increase gas exports

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted at a government meeting that the timely commissioning of major gas fields, including Galkynysh is provided by the strategic plans to steadily increase the supply of energy resources to world markets, the Turkmen government said on Thursday.

Tajik President, Russian Deputy Defence Minister discuss timing of stay of Russian military base in country

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received the Russian military delegation headed by Deputy Defence Minister Anatoly Antonov. The delegation is in Dushanbe on a three-day working visit, military and diplomatic sources told ITAR-TASS. The sources noted that the main theme of the meeting was the question of the terms and conditions of 201st Russian military base stay in Tajikistan.

Turkey's Economy Minister to visit Azerbaijan

Turkey's Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan next week will arrive in Azerbaijan to attend a meeting of economic ministers of member countries of Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states, which will open in Baku on August 13, advisor to the minister Cevdet Kaledci told Trend on Thursday.

Turkmenistan accedes to UN Convention on Use of Transboundary Watercourses

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) welcomed a decision of the Turkmen Parliament to join the Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes, UN News Centre said in its press release.
