Azerbaijani President invited his Columbian counterpart to visit Baku

Within his tour to South America Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov held talks with Foreign Minister of Columbia Maria Angela Ohlin Kuellar. Azerbaijani MFA reports that at the meeting the sides discussed ways of cooperation development between the two countries, as well as holding consultations between business people. At the meeting M. Kuellar stated potential of the sides’ trade, agrarian and energy cooperation.

Azerbaijani and US officials meet for dialogue on security cooperation

The U.S. Department of State hosted Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov and other representatives from the Azerbaijani government for the U.S. –Azerbaijan Security Dialogue, which met today in Washington, D.C., APA reports.
Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Andrew J. Shapiro led the U.S. delegation, which included participation from Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Eric Rubin, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wallander, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Energy William Bryan, and other senior U.S. Government officials.

What to expect from latest EU-Iran nuclear talks

Talks between experts from Iran and the six world powers on the Islamic Republic's disputed nuclear program ended without significant progress in the Turkish city of Istanbul early Wednesday, with the participants agreeing to hold further meetings on the issue as agreed earlier, according to the European Union.

Europe risks losing Turkmen gas opportunity

BP's latest annual "Statistical Review of World Energy" has revealed Turkmenistan's proven gas reserves as even bigger than previously assessed. It appraises Turkmenistan's proven reserves at 24.3 trillion cubic meters as of the end of 2011, almost double the 13.4 trillion cubic meters noted a year earlier, and itself an increase over the previously reported nine trillion cubic meters in proven reserves. On the current assessment, Turkmenistan holds 11.7% of the world’s proven natural gas reserves.

N.Korea Ramps Up Nuclear Threat Against U.S.

North Korea on Friday added a fresh nuclear threat to a propaganda campaign apparently aimed at diverting attention from internecine power struggles and consolidating leader Kim Jong-un’s rule. A spokesman for the North’s Foreign Ministry in a statement said the U.S.’ hostility to the North has reached an ‘extremely reckless level’ where it ‘incites an enormously hostile act insulting the dignity’ of the ruling Kim family.
