Russia presses U.N. Security Council on Syria's sovereignty

Russia asked the United Nations Security Council on Friday to call for Syria's sovereignty to be respected, for cross-border shellings and incursions to be halted and for "attempts or plans for foreign ground intervention" to be abandoned.

Greek reform quality a concern, Cyprus has done well: Eurogroup's Dijsselbloem

International lenders are concerned with the quality of reforms in Greece, in exchange for which Athens is getting loans, the chairman of euro zone finance ministers Jeroen Dijsselbloem told the European Parliament's economic committee on Thursday.

Iran proposes nuclear power cooperation with Hungary

Iran has proposed a project with Hungary to design and develop a small nuclear reactor that could be sold across Asia and Africa and also built in the Islamic republic, Tehran's top nuclear official said on Thursday.

Iran offers no action in support of global oil pact

Hezbollah chief says Turkey, Saudi Arabia prefer war over political agreement in Syria

The leader of Lebanon's Hezbollah group said on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia and Turkey favored a prolonged war in Syria rather than agreeing to a settlement which would lead to President Bashar al-Assad staying in power.

Saudis and Russia agree oil output freeze, Iran still an obstacle

Top oil exporters Russia and Saudi Arabia agreed on Tuesday to freeze output levels but said the deal was contingent on other producers joining in - a major sticking point with Iran absent from the talks and determined to raise production.
