Kyrgyzstan to Buy Gas From Kazakhstan Rather Than Uzbekistan

Kyrgyzstan's acting Deputy Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov says neighboring Kazakhstan has agreed to sell natural gas to Kyrgyzstan at a much lower price than Kyrgyzstan has been paying to Uzbekistan for gas supplies.

Bulgaria and Kazakhstan Start Economic Partnership

Bulgarian economy minister Traicho Traikov departs on visits to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, after last week he held talks with officials in Azerbaijan and Georgia. He will participate in the Kazenergy 2011 forum on October 4, where EU energy commissionaire Gunther Oettinger will join him, from the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism informed. Some of the topics of the forum will be renewables, Nabucco pipeline construction, development of electricity, gas and oil infrastructure and the possible transit of Kazakh gas via Bulgaria.

South Korean Consortium Investing in Romanian Nuclear Project

According to the office of Romania’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Business Environment, Ion Ariton, “The representatives of the (Korea Nuclear) consortium voiced again their firm decision to participate in the project through the purchase of shares in the project company EnergoNuclear SA and through investments in building Cernavoda reactors 3 and 4.

Technology Japan, Vietnam Move Ahead On Nuclear Reactor Plans

In Japan's most aggressive move to promote exports of nuclear technology since the Fukushima Daiichi accident in March, a Tokyo-based utility consortium signed a deal with Vietnam on Wednesday to conduct a feasibility study for two new reactors.

EU to assist Azerbaijan to improve financial controlling systems

The European Union (EU) and Azerbaijani Finance Ministry launched a Twinning project "Support to the State Financial Control Service to improve financial controls". The project was presented in Baku on Wednesday.
